Withdrawals
It consists in communicating to the Traffic Department registry that the vehicle has been withdrawn from circulation, either temporarily or permanently.
Temporary withdrawals
The most common reasons for a temporary withdrawal of a vehicle are due to a major breakdown of the vehicle and that it will not be repaired or will take time to repair, due to theft and unknown whereabouts, etc… although we can process the withdrawal temporarily with the simple will of the owner, with the request for withdrawal and an authorization for the agency.
The main advantage of canceling a vehicle temporarily is that the city hall circulation tax will not be issued where the vehicle’s address is during the time the vehicle is withdrawn (as long as they are entire calendar years).
To carry out this procedure we will need the following documentation:
- ID of the owner of the vehicle (In case of company: CIF + ID of the administrator and deeds of incorporation or powers of attorney)
- Original circulation permit (In case of loss an affidavit of loss must be signed)
- Original technical sheet (In case of loss an affidavit of loss must be signed)
This procedure is not telematic, but in a week it will be finished.
Definitive withdrawals
To withdraw a vehicle permanently, the best way is to take it to a decontamination center authorized by the General Directorate of Traffic, they are responsible for destroying the vehicle and process the withdrawal electronically in Traffic.
From the Gestoría Pòrtol we can process the definitive losses only in two cases:
- Export withdrawal
- Withdrawal of a Historical vehicle
For both withdrawals, the documentation is the same as temporary withdrawals:
- ID of the owner of the vehicle (In case of company: CIF + ID of the administrator and deeds of incorporation or powers of attorney)
- Original circulation permit (In case of loss an affidavit of loss must be signed)
- Original technical sheet (In case of loss an affidavit of loss must be signed)
A) In the case that the buyer and/or seller is a legal entity, the documentation to be presented by the company is as follows:
- CIF of the company
- ID of the administrator
- Deed of incorporation or powers of attorney (where the administrator appears)
B) In the case of vehicle documentation loss, the owner must sign an affidavit of loss.
